Sales Manager France – Sylvamo – Paris

Introduction

The Sales Manager will manage and initiate sales activities in France by being focused on delivering on customer needs which will involve interacting with all Sylvamo functions, nominated and new accounts with the primary objective of developing Sylvamo’ s business. This role involves, developing new relationships throughout the office papers distributive channels, and providing market insights to ensure the company’s products and services meet customer needs and exceed sales targets.

They employ more than 6,500 colleagues in Europe, Latin America and North America. The European headquarters is in Brussels, Belgium. They operate mills in Saillat, France and Nymolla, Sweden, a services center in Poland and sales offices throughout the region.

Function

Key Responsibilities

  • Educate target customers on the Value of Sylvamo and its brands and services. Develop incremental profitable branded sales and expand distribution channels where appropriate.
  • Achieve annual sales plans through the design and implementation of customer account plans aligned to company’s strategic objectives. Develop a consultative selling approach within selected accounts and bring to these accounts enthusiasm, drive and energy to deliver value whilst managing risk appropriately.
  • Open new accounts or market opportunities within office papers.
  • Maximize net revenue by effectively managing price and sales costs (rebates, royalties, payment days e.g.) and marketing costs in line with expectations of commercial lead team. Identify opportunities to improve net revenue wherever possible selling up and across branded product portfolios. Have the businesses strategic goals in mind when making decisions.
  • Provide regular customer and business information, in both oral and written form, through structured customer visit reports and contribution to monthly sales & marketing reports. Information should include details about competitor activity, price movements, etc., Communicate well across the organization and actively participate in projects where required
  • Develop and maintain relationships across client’s businesses both at local and central levels ensuring Sylvamo and its products and services are recognized and understood throughout client’s businesses
  • Involves establishing and developing dialogue with non-traditional route to market for either influence or trading possibilities. Which will by its nature require an ability to handle channel conflict
  • A willingness to challenge the status quo and to think differently would be an advantage
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing plans and specific actions where required. Ensure marketing activity within your accounts are focused and aligned to brand strategy and European marketing plans. Monitor control and communicate on all activity in relation to purpose and return.
  • Ensure we optimize brand and product mix, aligned to manufacturing and service capabilities (all mills). Challenge traditional models and views on current business and contribute to product and channel development within the business. Be the customers and marketplaces voice within the business.
  • Demonstrate understanding of company policies and processes and ensure they are implemented (pricing, forecasting, credit, etc…)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in B2B sales (5-15 years)
  • Proficiency in identifying and qualifying prospects
